Mildred's Legacy

In August 1994 the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service was incredibly fortunate and grateful in receiving a generous donation by the Late Mildred Mary Scanes from Nelson Bay.

The donation has seen great advancements in ongoing training requirements of the Service Pilots and AirCrew allowing them to participate in world-class training around the globe. This invaluable training ensures patients and crew on board our aircraft are in the safest possible hands while undertaking vital lifesaving missions across Northern NSW.

The community generously support the work of our locally based rescue helicopters to ensure that no one will ever have to pay and all the support combined is making a real difference to those in need.
