Mildred and Friends is a unique fundraising initiative developed by the teams of the Hunter and New England North West Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Bases which is aimed to engage children across Australia.

The four book set has been developed to inspire and educate the next generations of supporters, to promote and nurture a healthy social responsibility ethos to be respected and grown in the homes within our communities.

Children will undertake a journey of discovery of why, how and when the rescue helicopters are required and how critically important they are to the people of the communities in which they serve.

The first of the book series, Mildred Makes a Difference, is now available online through our parent website .

Mildred and Friends will soon feature in the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Schools Program which is a fun and educational resource developed to teach primary school students about the importance of the rescue helicopter services across Australia.

We have a wonderful Friend of Mildred program where people like yourself who enjoy the story, appreciate the Service and would like to make a difference in their community, can assist by participating in book readings at your children's/grandchildren's pre-school, school or local cafe.

If you would like to help please visit our Friend of Mildred page for more information and to register your interest.
